Indians can now buy Steam games using debit card; here’s how

Buying games online from Steam has been sort of a pain point for gamers without credit card for a while, especially when they doll out awesome games at very low prices during sales.

So now, gamers here can take advantage of those great offers and buy them using just a credit card thanks to MOL Points. You can purchase Steam wallet codes from here using your debit card, but you’ll need to pay a little more than the dollar rate for them, which is okay if you’re getting a good deal on the game. To put things in perspective you end up paying almost Rs400 extra when you buy $100 worth of Steam wallet and round Rs30 extra when you buy steam wallet for $5.

Once you have purchased Steam Wallet code you can go here and add them to your wallet on Steam.

A few debit cards such as those of Axis Bank support online purchases on stores like that of Steam but that’s not the case for all debit cards in India. So if you’re gamer who wants to buy games on Steam using a debit card, do check out MOL Points.

Hi Supreet, yes that is normal because there is a 12.36% VAT charge.which is deducted. So for every Rs100 you spend you get 87.64 MOL points. This is one of the negatives of using MOL, but it remains one of the few workarounds for online transactions if you don’t have a credit card.
